Luke Skywalker has passed the ultimate trial in becoming a fully-fledged Jedi Knight, defeating the evil of Darth Vader. But will the merciless powers of the Emperor prove too great to resist? The classic scene-one of the greatest in the entire STAR WARS saga- from RETURN OF THE JEDI.
The tension in this scene, and the Emperor's retaliatory dark side lightning blasts against Luke would be enhanced by Marcia Lucas during her late re-editing of key dramatic aspects of the film, making sure that there were more close-in reaction shots of the injured Vader seeing the damage being done to his son.
