"The more you tighten your grip Tarkin, the more star systems will slip through your fingers!!"

The captive Rebel Princess Leia’s confident words of defiance against the sadistic Grand Moff Tarkin, Imperial caretaker of the deadly Death Star battle station, would never prove more accurate. Already a small band of resistance fighters were desperately trying to restore freedom to a galaxy now in crisis and at civil war with itself, against the deadly machinations of the Imperial technological juggernaut. The newly christened Rebel Alliance would have followers that would rise in their thousands, quicker than the Empire and its dreaded ruler, Emperor Palpatine could ever have anticipated. Liberating themselves against galactic tyranny, the call to arms, to fight back, was never more triumphantly received and responded to from all corners of the galaxy. From thousands of worlds they came, and from backgrounds greatly diverse- from humans to aliens- all ready to defy the Empire with their hearts and minds over its stranglehold on the throats of goodness and compassion. Soon to be prominently leading that charge would be Luke Skywalker, once a farm-boy who dreamed of adventure on the desert world of Tatooine, and soon, with his increased Jedi powers, and the fate of the Force turned in his direction, proving to be one of its most influential, courageous and powerful leaders-and the first in a new race of Jedi Knight protectorates. Now, new or already familiar STAR WARS fans can find out more about this time of crisis and hope for the Rebellion- it’s peoples and the battles on land and space- and their courage, excitement and adventure through the eyes of Luke Skywalker himself in this worthy and nicely written book, JOIN THE REBELS, from author Catherine Saunders.

Immerse yourself into Luke’s action-packed heroics, as he and his friends blast off from Tatooine and quickly find themselves on the terrifying Death Star battle station and freeing the beautiful captive Princess Leia from the clutches of Sith Lord Darth Vader. Then buckle up and accompany him in his sleek X-wing fighter as he goes into battle against overwhelming odds to destroy the ominous and gigantic space station mere seconds before it can use its primary weapon against his friends. The journey continues further to the beautiful but treacherous ice world of Hoth, as Luke and the rest of his brave snowspeeder pilots fight off the terrifying advances of the mighty AT-AT Walkers on the frozen wilderness surface. Have you got what it takes to help him and the Rebels?

And finally, witness with awe and danger the explosive confrontation between Luke, now a fully confirmed Jedi Knight, and the evil Palpatine, of which only Luke’s father, the once powerful ex-Jedi known as Anakin Skywalker, now Darth Vader, might be able to help our hero restore freedom to the galaxy once and for all.

Very young readers will, with no doubt, be lovingly swept away by it all and will thrill to the authors clear and concise wording of the adventures, carefully crafted to bring the Classic STAR WARS Trilogy to life, alongside some lovely, specially chosen images from the movies that add to the reading experiences in what is yet another great DORLING KINDERSLEY children’s book package.

It’s the stuff of which fantasy and legend are born. Prepare for lightspeed reading excitement!
