A German cinema lobby card shows lots of background detail including the studio floor and overhead lighting. |
For the moment trapped at a chasm point, with the enemy behind them trying to raise the shield door, Leia efficiently shows her lethal blaster skills against higher up Stormtrooper fire whilst Luke prepares a cable wire from his utility belt for their daring swing across. Yes, it's that all-time iconic moment, with John Williams superb score heightening the old adventure film tribute romanticism.

This sequence of Leia firing at the troops was shot at floor level at Elstree, with Bob Anderson falling from above as the targeted Stormtrooper. In the original film, you could hear the practical adapted gun blanks being fired on set (also heard in the first 1976 teaser trailer) - sadly these were removed and replaced with slightly revised blaster fire sound effects - ultimately just in this scene - with the film's 1997 Special Edition.
