'STAR WARS' AT 40: COURAGE UNDER FIRE!
Amidst heavy fire, two X-wing fighters speed through the Death Star trench on their way to target-point detonation, in this lovely piece of stylish and beautiful classic production painting art by Ralph McQuarrie. McQuarrie's eternally-gorgeous THE STAR WARS PORTFOLIO released in 1977 describes this art piece as an "action" and "atmosphere" conception, and is surely just as perfect and representative for Red Leader and his last surviving wingman's attack run as it to Luke's later, more successful run.
Don't forget, there's a stunning collection of 100 postcards available of McQuarrie's STAR WARS work, out now from ABRAMS:
