'STAR WARS' AT 40: THE OVERCONFIDENT MOFF!

The analysis of the Rebels attack strategy has been completed and a weakness to the Death Star battle station has indeed been found. Chief Bast informs Grand Moff Tarkin of his concerns, whose steadfast trust in Imperial firepower and the skills of Darth Vader leads his superior to confidently ignore him, despite the potentially huge risk and the advantage of a ready escape ship.

A shame for Peter Cushing, too, really, who, several years after the film had come out, told an interviewer he would have loved to have come back for the first STAR WARS sequel!

Leslie Schofield as Bast with an Imperial technician, ready for shooting on a brief scene later deleted.
