WIRED FOR SOUND! FORTY YEARS OF NPR's 'STAR WARS'

You've seen the film, now experience the original Star Wars through the incredible medium of sound...

Great heroes and spacecraft art that appeared in one of the UK Radio Times magazines back in July 1981, heralding the spectacular arrival of the acclaimed and beloved alternate Expanded Universe audio drama version of A New Hope, from esteemed sci-fi author Brian Daley (fused with Ben Burtt's awesome sound designs and featuring a terrific voice cast including Mark Hamill and Anthony Daniels), whose thirteen-part NPR series aired to immense ratings popularity on BBC Radio One, overriding criticisms made by the tabloid press of the time that the run (which debuted in the US forty years ago today) had been a costly purchase from the public funded license fee kitty. Indeed, the series proved so popular in the UK that it was quickly repeated in additional stereo transmissions.

If anyone knows the artist of the above piece, please get in touch.

Having fun in the recording studio for early episodes.
