More adaptable than most to hostile environments, Luke Skywalker, now a famed commander in the Rebel Alliance, has a new friend in one of Hoth's more friendly creatures, the Tauntaun, though their investigation into a nearby crashed meteorite will soon be violently interrupted...
This was one of the very first images released to the worldwide press for The Empire Strikes Back in 1979, specially chosen by George Lucas himself to show the return of character favourite Luke Skywalker (as played by Mark Hamill), but also importantly reminding audiences that the sequel to the original Star Wars was going to be all-new, featuring all-new alien worlds (like the ice planet of Hoth) and fascinating all-new creatures (like the Tauntaun). This image was more than successful in whetting the appetites and enthusiasm of fans worldwide.
