The truth behind the Millennium Falcon's temporary escape shelter is finally revealed; a hungry and angry space slug from whose deep belly of which the smuggling vessel has only just escaped. A great ILM storyboard from Joe Johnston, featuring the Falcon heading outwards in a different escape direction from what was ultimately seen in the movie.
The classic scene would be remembered by the legendary science fiction author, and Star Wars fan, Arthur C. Clarke, and talked about by two of his characters within the classic novel, 2061: Odyssey Three.
