Making the most of the post Return of the Jedi timeline to which it's set- a period of chaos amidst a once triumphant uprising, The Mandalorian has seen our anti-hero Din Djarin encounter and enter into conflict with a whole host of incredible life forms of all shapes and sizes across the outer rim - some known (like the fishy Mon Calamari, fierce reptilian Trandoshans and the bulky thicko Gamorrean Guards) and some not so well known, like this fierce creature of instinct acting within its own natural habitat, the Mud Horn, from the show's opening season second episode, The Child. Bearing a powerful visage not too dissimilar to the equally beastly Reek from Attack of the Clones, the Mud Horn soon gives our armour-plated hero a serious physical wrecking until the timely life-saving intervention of a certain small and super-cute alien, suddenly displaying its incredible powers within that mysterious energy field known as the Force for the first impressive time, and quickly spellbinding viewers. Stunning conceptual/production painting art by one of The Mandalorian's key tone visualists, Christian Alzmann.
Discover and savour the conceptual and production painting worlds of this exciting televisual chapter of the Star Wars saga that is Disney+'s all-new, groundbreaking series, a show vividly and spectacularly rendered by a truly versatile and dedicated art team, their work charted via industry veteran and key Lucasfilm insider Phil Szostak within the pages of his newest franchise related behind the scenes book: The Art of Star Wars: The Mandalorian, a gorgeous must-have title now available in the UK, published by Abrams.
