'HAPPY HALLOWEEN!' (2023)

Han Solo and his ever-loyal first mate Chewbacca have gotten themselves in and out of a lot hairy and dangerous scrapes over the years, but none so macabre and horrific than their encounter with the zombie-fied Empire cohorts infected with Blackwing virus, from the acclaimed Death Troopers horror story written by Joe Shreiber.

Great art linked to the tale used to promote the then popular Star Wars Galaxies interactive video game series, which also got to incorporate a lone Jedi into the gory action via the shapely form of Aayla Secura.

STAR WARS AFICIONADO wishes its worldwide readers a very memorable 'HAPPY HALLOWEEN!'

THE ART OF WAR: CELEBRATING THE THRAWN LEGACY!

The enigmatic power and skills of that truly alien servant of the Empire, Grand Admiral Thrawn, is well captured in this excellent art by Chris Trevas.

Being the Star Wars franchise equivalent of the ultimate calculating and resourceful villain (within the fragmented Galactic Empire in the saga era post Return of the Jedi), in a similar and effective way that the alien warrior Thanos was to The Avengers film series for Marvel, Grand Admiral Thrawn's live action debut in the upcoming Ahsoka mini-series, played by Lars Mikkelsen, is hugely awaited by fans. And, as well now know, this is just the beginning for Thrawn's ambitions, what with his eventual cinematic debut in Dave Filoni's all-action, multi-series character assemblage that will be Heir to the Empire. I wonder where he got that great title from...?

'SOLO': THE FEMALE FACTOR!

The definition of a survivor, having endured such prior bad luck and hardship in her early life amongst the slave scavengers of Corellia, the resourceful Qi'Ra, as of the end of Solo: A Star Wars Story, was seen becoming one of the most powerful crime bosses in the galaxy via the Crimson Dawn cartel. And that makes her more dangerous and unpredictable than ever, despite her deep affection for former lover, Han Solo...

Acclaimed author E.K. Johnston, adept at developing popular Star Wars franchise heroines within all-new canon-related adventures, looks set to deliver another acclaimed winner with her take on Qi'ra, as Crimson Climb comes to Disney Books (US hardback) later in the year (October 2023)...

Rise to power, rise to control...
