'SOLO': A MAN WITH A PLAN!


As Hollywood rumours surface indicating that some kind of series is now in the early planning stages for Han Solo and Chewbacca at Disney, let's hope that Alden Ehrenreich (seen in this early film marketing image) has an opportunity for involvement alongside the Corellian's original incarnation in Harrison Ford, having done such a prior noteworthy job in Solo: A Star Wars Story.

ROGUE ONE: THE FIRST ANNIVERSARY!


The Stormtrooper body count is always going to be high with freedom fighter Jyn Erso about, as this image from the now legendary Battle of Scarif shows (linked to an ultimately deleted sequence). Great art, from Brian Rood, which would be used for all kind of 2016 merchandising.

Happy UK First Anniversary to that opening anthology film success that is Rogue One: A Star Wars Story!

'STAR WARS' AT 40: DEATH FROM SPACE!


In the depths of space, the firepower of the devastating Death Star super weapon is unleashed in this intriguing movie poster concept art for 20th Century Fox marketing by artist unknown, rendered we assume during late 1976, as the space station looks akin to an image conceived by Ralph McQuarrie in one of his 1975 conceptual paintings. And note the original 'W' in the STAR WARS logo that would be changed by the time of the film's release (though still appearing on select early merchandising worldwide).

EPISODE VIII: A DROID'S NEW FRIENDS...?


He/it has mixed with a whole host of varying sized and diverse lifeforms from across the galaxy, from the likes of Jawas to Ewoks to Gungans, but is cute Artoo Detoo ready for the even cuter Porgs of Ahch-To? We'll find out when The Last Jedi debuts this December.
