ROGUE ONE: A BEACHHEAD TO 'HOPE'!

There's no time to admire the gorgeous scenery of Scarif for our Rebel heroes of Jyn Erso, Captain Cassian Andor and droid K-2SO: together on the riskiest self-initiated mission a group could ever send itself on: retrieve the Death Star plans from a heavily guarded Imperial installation in order to save the galaxy, in this lovely promotional composite for Rogue One that originally graced the cover of the US Entertainment Weekly magazine in 2016.

Rogue One is now showing on the UK's SKY CINEMA channel, part of its STAR WARS season:

ROGUE ONE: REBELS VS WALKERS!

The classic and now infamous deleted scene from the superb teaser trailer for ROGUE ONE, the one which director Gareth Edwards was sad to let go with the films re-shoots, where Jyn and her band of unique Rebel soldiers race headlong into battle against AT-ACT Walkers on the shoreline of Scarif. Terrific art by Matt Ferguson.

Alexander Freed's acclaimed adaptation of the film that ultimately made it to our screens is out now in weighty and wonderful paperback form in the UK via ARROW BOOKS. And if you haven't already got it and absorbed its gritty atmosphere and bold heroics from cover to cover, then do so now!

ROGUE ONE: WITH ADDITIONAL FIREPOWER!

Most of the ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY action footage of the Imperial Stormtroopers on Scarif shore patrol or fighting the Rebels ultimately never made the final cut, but at least this great shot, also featuring AT-ATC Walkers, managed to survive intact.

No stranger to bringing realistic and vivid war action and gritty characterisation to the printed page, Alexander Freed is surely the right person to pen the upcoming novel adaptation of ROGUE ONE, out this week in UK hardback from CENTURY.

ROGUE ONE: IT IS A PERIOD OF CIVIL WAR...

The ominous sight of the Death Star above the clouds of Scarif.

Accompanying yesterday's stunning trailer, LUCASFILM/DISNEY UK have delivered some great new imagery for ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY, which STAR WARS AFICIONADO is proud to showcase.

The "Joan of Ark" figure of ROGUE ONE: Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones).

On Jedha, Chirrut Imwe (Donnie Yen) surveys his fallen enemy.

Jyn sees first hand the destruction wrought by the Death Star's power, and its soon legacy.

K-2SO capably mans the U-wing fighter controls.

Mon Mothma (Genevieve O'Reilly) and the Rebel Alliance cells gather to discuss the dire situation.

The massive Imperial complex on Scarif is revealed.

With X-wing cover support, a U-Wing fighter makes ready to land on Scarif.

The shoreline battle with the AT-ATC Walkers continues.

X-wing fighters attack the Imperial Star Destroyer docking ring above Scarif.

The original Darth Vader returns (right down to the red eyes!). Is this the beginning, or the brutal end, of his business with Director Krennic?

The Death Star in space, now nearing full activation and a new custodian.
