With the surprising discovery that Maz Kanata has been in long-time possession of Luke Skywalker's inherited lightsaber, previously lost at Bespin, Han Solo, Finn, Chewbacca and the alien bartender find themselves cut off from the above levels of the Takodana castle by ferocious First Order attack, their only exit barred by a newly arrived group of Stormtroopers, in this deleted scene from
THE FORCE AWAKENS. As Han Solo confuses the enemy with some comedy comebacks, Maz shows special powers in bringing the ceiling down on the troops, buying time for their escape to the surface, and an even bigger battle ahead.

Ultimately cut for reasons of pace, part of this scene was released in the deleted scenes area of the recent Blu-ray US release of the film, though the sequence proved incomplete, not giving us the moment where Maz revealed her powers. The UK Blu-ray release did not have any of this deleted scene at all- with no explanation given by LUCASFILM/DISNEY as to why this excision was made?
