EPISODE VII: IN OPERATIONAL READINESS...

Keeping an eye on his young fighter comrades' varied missions across the galaxy, and of potential incursions by the dreaded First Order, top pilot Snap Wexley is a busy man and one of General Leia Organa's most popular and talented pilots in the Resistance.

EPISODE VIII: A SPACE AGE DAVID vs GOLIATH!

He's either brave or insane. Whatever his First Order enemies think at that present time, the Resistance's boldest and most passionate fighter pilot Poe Dameon plans to make an impact (literally) against the huge and powerful forces that have arrived in the D'Qar system and now plan to level his fellow freedom fighters into extinction.

A memorable moment launching The Last Jedi.

EPISODE VII: THE HEART OF THE RESISTANCE!

The ultimate Star Wars heroine returns in this memorable digitally-enhanced key art for The Force Awakens.

The galaxy is in building crisis once again, its New Republic struggling to cope, of which only the strength, wisdom and continued leadership of General Leia Organa can prevail as she rallies friends old and new to her cause - the new Resistance - against the emergent threat of the building-in-military strength First Order, coming in from the Unknown Regions.

A terrific and iconic publicity shot of Carrie Fisher as Leia Organa, from The Force Awakens, used as important character key art for the film and signifying the return of the Classic Trilogy's most popular heroes.

EPISODE VII: AN AIDE TO THE RESISTANCE!

The full terror of the First Order is revealed.

Sent to the heart of the New Republic to plead the Resistance's cause in taking firm and official action against the now confirmed threat of the First Order, the life of General Leia Organa's cause-inspired aide, Korr Sella, is cut tragically short as the enemy Starkiller Base unleashes its Hyperspace travelling crimson death blasts against the planet and system.

An attractive and youthful member of the cast and onscreen characters, it's a shame that rising British star Maisie Richardson-Sellers' scenes in EPISODE VII, including a prior conversation on D'Qar with General Leia Organa, ultimately had to be cut for time and pace reasons, with only her death scene making it to the finished movie.

TOPPS character card.

A deleted scene as Korr confers with Leia on D'Qar.

EPISODE VII: STILL A PRINCESS, STILL A SCOUNDREL!

They may have grown apart with the loss of their son to the Dark Side, but Han and Leia's love for each other remains strong in difficult times, as seen when the pair say goodbye at the beginning of another dangerous, ultimately fatal mission for the smuggler, in this great image from The Force Awakens.

EPISODE VIII: TIME TO LEAVE!

In orbit above their once home base on D'Qar, the surviving fleet ships of the Resistance (the Ninka, Anodyne and Vigil), flanked by the protective Mon Calamari cruiser The Raddus, race against time to evacuate their personnel and tech before the ominous arrival of the First Order, in the opening scene to The Last Jedi.

EPISODE VII: A PAUSE BEFORE ACTION!

Han Solo takes a last look at his surroundings as his mission to Starkiller Base fatefully awaits. A great image shot at the UK's redressed former Greenham Common air base exterior turned into the Resistance home of D'Qar, for The Force Awakens. This scene was shot around September 2014, with Harrison Ford returned to filming after his unfortunate on-set injury earlier that year.

Having known and admired J.J. Abrams since their work together in the nineties with the popular feel good movie Regarding Henry, Harrison Ford's return to the Star Wars saga after a long absence felt more assured for the film star actor- his overall feelings and instincts strong for VII's overall story and Han Solo's character arc.

EPISODE VII: THE NEW BASE...

There's nothing that sums up a STAR WARS film more evocatively than seeing X-wing fighters and the Millennium Falcon together at a Rebel/Resistance base, and this great art for The Force Awakens, from conceptual spark Matt Allsopp (firmly capturing the spirit of Ralph McQuarrie), intriguingly puts them on a mysterious planet (later to become D'Qar) where the vegetation has taken a firm hold of the local ancient architecture- an idea that subtly made its way into the finished film.

EPISODE VII: THE DROID SPYMASTER!

At the Resistance base on D'Qar, C-3PO gets busy contacting his unique droid spy network across the galaxy, as the search for the missing BB-8 continues. A deleted scene filmed at Pinewood, from The Force Awakens. It's a shame this never made the final cut, as Threepio would end up having so little onscreen time, and this would have been a nice sideline scene relevant to events on Takodana.

EPISODE VII: INFORMATION RECEIVED...

Han and Leia know that their relationship problems of the past will have to be put on the back burner for a while, now that information has come through to the Resistance on D'Qar about the First Order's devastating weapon, Starkiller Base, in this scene from THE FORCE AWAKENS.

EPISODE VII: PREPARING FOR RETALIATION!

"We're still at war with First Order. A war that won't end until either it or the Resistance is destroyed. The next time, without Luke, we won't stand a chance."

A potential lead-in to the events of EPISODE VIII, General Leia Organa addresses the members of her Resistance, warning them that the First Order will retaliate with the destruction of Starkiller Base. This scene can be found in Alan Dean Foster's novelisation of THE FORCE AWAKENS and takes place just as Artoo is reactivating himself from self-enforced slumber. In post production, the gathering scene was likely cut/re-worked for pacing reasons, to hammer home the events of Han's death with Leia and Chewie and then get the audience swiftly perked up for Artoo's return with his vital piece of the holographic map leading to Luke.

EPISODE VII: SON OF SULLUST!

Everyone's favourite alien co-pilot of the Millennium Falcon from RETURN OF THE JEDI, Nien Nunb, was back in action for THE FORCE AWAKENS, played once again by actor/puppeteer Mike Quinn. This time round, though, Nunb showed his singular piloting skills within an X-wing, during the epic race against time battle in and around the skies of Starkiller Base.

Ready for action once again!

EPISODE VII: THE FALCON ON THE COMMON!

The superb Millennium Falcon half shell recreation can be seen in its nostalgic glory during filming at the UK's landmark Greenham Common airbase, the location soon on screen transformed into the Rebel Base of D'Qar, for THE FORCE AWAKENS. Note Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher rehearsing their goodbye scene and Greg Grunberg as fighter pilot Snap Wexley getting ready to film, alongside a host of other Resistance clothed extras.

EPISODE VII: LIKE MOTHER, LIKE DAUGHTER!

General Leia Organa and Lieutenant Connix with communications droid PZ-4CO, within the D'Qar Resistance base.

Carrie Fisher remains the defining heroine of the STAR WARS saga as Princess, now General, Leia Organa, but that doesn't mean her daughter Billie Lourd can't also enjoy some of the action against the dreaded First Order, too, playing the spunky Lieutenant Kaydel Ko Connix, a soldier and technician at the D'Qar Resistance Base, who also travels to Takodana to aid in the rescue of Han Solo and friends, during the final act of THE FORCE AWAKENS.

Connix is seen briefly with the Resistance's arrival on Takodana.

EPISODE VII: WHAT HAPPENED TO MAZ?

At the Resistance base on D'Qar, our heroes gather to watch the final piece revealed of the star map indicating the whereabouts of the self-exiled Luke Skywalker, in a scene filmed at Pinewood Studios. Note the crowd inclusion of Lupita Nyong'o as Maz Kanata, whose scenes at the location were ultimately cut/digitally removed from the film, including the intriguing and epic moment from the second trailer for THE FORCE AWAKENS where she passes Luke's Lightsaber over to sister Leia.

Arrived on D'Qar, Maz confers with Leia in a deleted scene.

Lupita go through a scene with J.J. (holding Luke's lightsaber) during Pinewood filming.
Leia is given the lightsaber by Maz, as seen in the second trailer for TFA.

UPDATE: Michael Kogge's Young Readers adaptation of THE FORCE AWAKENS gives us a pleasing goodbye-for-now type scene involving Maz with Finn on Takodana, after the battle- no longer seeing the eyes of a man who wants to run, she tells Finn that he now bears the eyes of a hero.

EPISODE VII: THE DOCTOR AND THE WOOKIEE!

Having been injured in battle, Chewbacca (we assume Peter Mayhew, who did scenes for the character where he was sitting down) finally gets the medical attention he needs, as well as some pleasing company, from Resistance Doctor Kalonia (Harriet Walter, from J.J. Abrams favourite TV show: Downton Abbey), in a sweet little moment from THE FORCE AWAKENS. We're hoping that the two get another fun scene together for EPISODE VIII- there's definitely chemistry there!

Kalonia's second scene (linked to Finn's later battle injuries) will be included on the upcoming THE FORCE AWAKENS Blu-ray and DVDS, officially out in the US from April 5th, 2016.

EPISODE VII: FLYING ACE!

On D'Qar, the brave men and women of the Resistance against the First Order look up to the courageous new heroes following in the footsteps of those that previously fought and beat a tyrannical Empire. Poe Dameron, born in the Yavin system, is one of this distinctive new breed: gutsy, confident and loyal to his friends and the cause. We look forward to seeing what new missions, in and out of his slick X-wing, await Poe for the upcoming EPISODE VIII (possibly seeing him on a new alien planet filmed in Mexico?).

"If you see our son, bring him home..."

The final touching words between a mother and father, a former husband and wife, and former lovers, as the too long apart Han Solo and General Leia Organa return to doing what they do best, as heroes to a new Resistance, in a genuinely audience affecting moment, nicely played by Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher, from THE FORCE AWAKENS.
