THE CLONE WARS: ON HER MAJESTY'S SECURITY SERVICE!

CLASSIC ART: OF DUTY AND LOVE!

Her return to Coruscant to vote on the critical issue of the creation of a Grand Army is just the start of a galaxy-spanning adventure of love, intrigue and action for Senator Padme Amidala and her young Jedi protector in Anakin Skywalker, as the epic scale and doomed romance of the pair during the events of EPISODE II is beautifully rendered by Tsuneo Sanda.

CLASSIC IMAGE: DEATH OF A DECOY!

After a brutal assassination attempt the moment the Naboo diplomatic party touched down on Coruscant, the disguised Padme Amidala is shocked to see her friend, bodyguard and decoy Corde die in front of her, whilst a worried Captain Typho tries to console and hurriedly protect the senator at the same time- a memorable opening to EPISODE II.

CLASSIC IMAGE: "STRESSFUL TIMES"!

Finally, EPISODE II revealed the all-important, politically savvy, later brave defier of the Empire, Bail Organa, to the Prequel Universe, as played by Jimmy Smits, seen here with Captain Typho and a Republic delegation to the Supreme Chancellor at the movie's start. Smits was a fine addition to the STAR WARS universe- and I wish that he'd had more screen time in the final episodes than he eventually got.

CLASSIC IMAGE: THE NABOO HATTER!

Ready for action, Captain Typho, as enthusiastically played by Jay Laga'aia, poses for a publicity image. Sadly, his EPISODE III contribution was cut down to a bare minimum, his final scene with Padme- escorting her and Threepio to her ship on Corsucant- literally downsized by an effects shot. Early storyboard pre-scripting ideas would see the character, and Padme's handmaiden bodyguards, brutally gunned down by enemy forces on what would become Mustafar, but this idea was dropped.

CLASSIC IMAGE: MURDER MOST FOUL!

George Lucas's plan to start EPISODE II: ATTACK OF THE CLONES with an air of mystery and danger comes to fruition with the first of two engineered assassination attempts on Senator Amidala's life when she arrives on Coruscant. Poor decoy Corde becomes the first on-screen victim of Bounty Hunter Zam Wesell's efforts.

Atop one of the snowy wastes of the Jedi crystal world of Ilum, Senator Padme Amidala and her loyal protector Captain Typho are worried about Yoda's fate in a scene from the first season of Genndy Tartakovsky's excellent hand-animated series CLONE WARS from 2003.

Jay Laga'aia makes an imposing presence as Senator Amidala's dedicated protector Captain Typho, in this publicity image for EPISODE II. Beyond the actual STAR WARS films, the Australian actor and singer is, of course, well known in his dedicated position of Master of Ceremonies presenter/host for the last three STAR WARS: CELEBRATION conventions, enjoying meeting cast, crew and fans alike.

CLASSIC IMAGE: RE-UNITED IN A TIME OF CRISIS

Within her triple-protected apartment on Coruscant, ex-Queen now senator, Padme Amidala, flanked by her aides Captain Typho and Handmaiden, Dorme, is re-united with her old friend, and new protector, Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi, and his "grown-up" Padawan learner, Anakin Skywalker, in this intriguing green screen scene filmed at the FOX STUDIOS in 2000 for EPISODE II: ATTACK OF THE CLONES.
