'INDY V': WELCOME BACK, SALLAH!

"Give 'em hell, Indiana Jones!"

The ever loyal friend to Indiana Jones, Sallah has been on many epic adventures with the fortune and glory seeker over thirty years, especially linked to his Cairo home location. The ominous shadow of retirement now seemingly looms for the pair, but an encounter with the mysterious Dial of Destiny will surely beckon one further important quest for Sallah's greatest friend.

It's great to see one of the UK's finest character actors, John Rhys-Davies, back in one of his most beloved screen roles.

I'm sure the return of Sallah will be a part of the Indy V coverage within the latest issue of the UK's Total Film magazine, available in shop and subscribers issue covers.

'RAIDERS' AT 40: DAMN NAZIS!

Like that other near immortal hero James Bond, Indiana Jones must have a worthy adversary to fight against in his epic globe-trotting adventures and Raiders of the Lost Ark brings us the Nazi threat through four greats. First off there is Indy's true rival in archaeology and fortune and glory seeking, Rene Belloq (played with a slimy kind of class by Paul Freeman), followed by his key Nazi aides desperate tor recover the 'Lost Ark' for their eager Fuhrer: stalwart German actor Wolf Kahler (who'd appeared previously as a Nazi against Harrison Ford in 1978's Force Ten From Navarone), Gobler (Anthony Higgins), and the truly creepy Toht (a standout performance from the late Ronald Lacey, who was apparently about to quit acting completely before being given this marvellous comedy villain role to enjoy).

"Heil, Hitler!" Toht, as played by Ronald Lacey.

CLASSIC INDY: JUST HANGIN' AROUND!

Vogel and his German tank may have gone over one of the mighty cliffs at Alexandretta, but our Indy is still hanging on in there in this deleted moment that would have explained how he once more cheated death, and also seeing in one of the franchise's greatest comedy moments, during the exciting events of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.

Indy makes a miraculous reappearance in a genuine comedy gold moment.

CLASSIC INDY: NO TIME FOR HORSE RUSTLING!

Indy needs to remind his good friend Sallah that securing some horses for his brother, to make up for his destroyed car from the Nazi's, is not a key part of their rescue mission of Henry Jones, in this fun scene from INDIANA JONES AND THE LAST CRUSADE!

Indiana Jones 5: John Rhys-Davies wants to return as Sallah

STAR WARS AFICIONADO was sad to hear of the recent passing of the legendary British cinematographer Douglas Slocombe, who gave the Classic Indy Trilogy such a stylish and colourful visual palette.
