He's used to planes, trains and automobiles. Now Harrison Ford undertakes an altogether more different, and literally back-breaking, form of transportation than he's normally used to, during Sri Lankan filming of TEMPLE OF DOOM in 1983.

On location in Sri Lanka, Steven Spielberg tries to get the attention of the always enthusiastic screen newcomer Key Huy Quan, during an off-duty moment from filming for INDIANA JONES AND THE TEMPLE OF DOOM.

If you're in the UK, keep an eye out for upcoming re-worked repeats of classic THE SOUTH BANK SHOW documentaries, especially from the seventies and eighties, which have just started on the SKY ARTS 1 HD channel. In the 1983 heat of Sri Lanka, our "Man with the Hat" confers with director and friend Steven Spielberg - a superb creative partnership - on his upcoming duel with two Thugghee swordsmen, in this nice behind the scenes image from TEMPLE OF DOOM.

CLASSIC INDY: THAT HERO SMILE!

In and out of filming classic moments including fighting thuggee cults and voodoo, cutting a rope bridge in half and eating chilled monkey brains, Harrison Ford gets a chance to enjoy playing Indiana Jones anew, and the whole movie-making process, during the Sri Lankan principal photography for INDIANA JONES AND THE TEMPLE OF DOOM.

CLASSIC INDY: SANKARA CONFLICT

Our Hatted Hero grapples with the evil Mola Ram for control of the last of the Sankara Stones in the classic rope bridge action finale to 1984's INDIANA JONES AND THE TEMPLE OF DOOM. Let's hope, with the release of the four INDY films on Blu-ray, that UK fans will finally get to see a complete version of TEMPLE released after twenty-eight years!
