EPISODE III: DEATH FROM ABOVE!

The intense conflict between Jedi brothers continues amongst the hot and dangerous volcanic landscape of the mysterious world of Mustafar, as seen in this great EPISODE III concept art, especially showcasing the agility of the formidable Darth Vader, from Aaron McBride.

UPDATE (14/1/24|) A wonderful idea to show the complete unabridged duel between Anakin/Vader and Obi-Wan in the style of The Clone Wars animated series, check out the superb fan-made Battle of the Heroes. This really should have been done by Filoni and company back in the day, and acts as a wonderful tribute to both EPISODE III and the enduring animated series.

CLASSIC IMAGE:TO SEPARATE FROM LAVA!

The intense fighting between former friends now enemies Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi certainly takes in a variety of locations in and around the Separatists' former hideout on the fiery world of Mustafar. But such deadly conflict also brings a collision of outside forces, as protective outside deflector screens collapse and molten lava spray debris soon erupts onto the Jedi combatants, in this memorable moment from EPISODE III

The making of this part of the epic Nick Gillard coordinated fight sequence would be covered from all behind the scenes angles for EPISODE III's experimental feature-length DVD documentary, Within a Minute.

The scene was filmed and the creature realised by Neal Scanlan's team, but it was ultimately dropped from the final cut for time and pace reasons.

EPISODE IX: BEST OF FRENEMIES!

They may be bitter rivals and enemies onscreen within the First Order, but actors Domhnall Geeson and Richard E. Grant are clearly enjoying their Star Wars filming experiences at a location just outside Pinewood Studios now turned into one of the few tree-lined areas of the volcanic world of Mustafar. A deleted scene at the beginning of The Rise of Skywalker, where General Hux and Allegiant General Prye watch Kylo Ren at his most slaughterous in his mission to find the lost Sith world of Exegol.

The brief scene can be found intact in Rae Carson's recently released 'Expanded Edition' novel adaptation of the film, published in the UK by CENTURY, and available here:

THE 'SITH' AT TEN: ON THE PRECIPICE!

As the galaxy goes amok, so too does the once friendship and trust between Jedi Master and former pupil- the fires of Mustafar the perfect setting for a battleground of hatred shown by Anakin Skywalker towards Obi-Wan Kenobi during the closing section of EPISODE III, as represented in this great promotional artwork (which I personally hadn't previously seen) for the Playstation 2005 video game.

If anyone knows who the artist is, please get in touch.
