'THE FORCE AWAKENS' AT 10: THE UNLIKELY STORMTROOPER!

Stolen away years before from his unknown family on an unknown Outer Rim world, the Stormtrooper known originally only as FN-2187 would soon abandon his armour amidst the shocking brutality and tyranny of the First Order and its spread-out into the New Republic, refusing to kill innocent people on Jakku, and ultimately becoming a key figure of the recently formed Resistance by the conclusion of The Force Awakens, having found a family of sorts in the mysterious Rey of Jakku, courageous and inspiring top fighter pilot Poe Dameron, amiable droid BB-8, and the seasoned smugger and former Rebel general, Han Solo.

And Finn's adventures, played by John Boyega (who made a fine impression in productions like 24 and Attack the Block before being cast in the character), are only just beginning..

CLASSIC ART: IDEOLOGICAL WARFARE!

The battle on Takodana rages on, as fugitive Finn, egged on by Maz Kanata, finally decides to make his stand and fight his former First Order Stormtrooper colleagues with the ancient weapon of his once enemy. But sure enough, a former friend, bitter and ready for payback, soon comes into the path of conflict. A scene of conflict from The Force Awakens strikingly rendered by Brian Rood.

EPISODE VIII: AN OLD SCORE TO SETTLE...

Her legion of loyal troops either blown to smithereens or sucked out into the vacuum of space, it's now just Captain Phasma, formidable enough in singular abilities, against the revenge fuelled Resistance 'scum' and traitor, FN-2187, in a memorable if all-too-brief action scene from The Last Jedi.

EPISODE VII: TO SAVE THE INNOCENT

At the backlot of Pinewood, on the specially created village of Jakku, J.J. Abrams and his crew prepare to film the ultimately deleted moment where John Boyega's conflicted FN-2187 raises his weapon against a terrified villager holding a baby but ultimately lets her go- a scene available to view once more within the Deleted Scenes package of THE FORCE AWAKENS' all-new Collector's Edition set.

EPISODE VII: THE GOOD SOLDIER!

Trained to fight but unwilling to kill for the brutal First Order regime that took him and controlled him from birth, FN-2187's new, ultimate destiny with the Resistance was one of the key factors to the success of THE FORCE AWAKENS and its storytelling, given charm, enthusiasm and ultimately courage on-screen in the role by John Boyega, who quickly won the appreciation of fans worldwide. We're looking forward to seeing what happens next for the actor and the character of Finn, and whether he'll wield a lightsaber again, during the exciting and atmospheric events of EPISODE VIII.

EPISODE VII: STORMTROOPERS OF THE NEW DARK AGE!

On the Super Star Destroyer Finaliser, a First Order command Stormtrooper stands ready, as do a legion of soldiers combat trained for deployment via the shuttles of the vast hangar bay- an intriguing image linked to a deleted moment.

Finn prepares to join the other troopers in the shuttle.

UPDATE: Michael Kogge's Young Readers adaptation of THE FORCE AWAKENS has an early scene where FN-2187 and the First Order Stormtroopers line up to enter the shuttles to Jakku, which tallies with the above still.

Out now on UK Blu-ray and DVD.

EPISODE VII: MAN ON THE RUN!

He's been declared the traitor of the First Order, a title and charge of which he'll never be truly able to escape, but Finn, formerly FN-2187, has instead discovered a new and rewarding life as a key member of the bold and spreading Resistance against them, showing spirit, courage and loyalty to his new friends beyond anything he'd ever felt possible. And his adventure, his own path to a surly intriguing future, will continue on with EPISODE VIII.

EPISODE VII: "WE'RE GONNA DO THIS!"

Playing the old prisoner and escort trick, rogue First Order trooper FN-2187 and Poe Dameron make their way into the Finalizer's main hangar bay and begin their plan to steal a TIE fighter, in this great image from THE FORCE AWAKENS.

Only the right side portion of this image was recreated as a set at Pinewood Studios, the rest was a cgi overlay. Note on the far right the little mouse droid scurrying about!
