They've efficiently and brutally helped their leader bring terror to the galaxy by the time of The Force Awakens, now the fearsome, heavily-armoured Knights of Ren return after a film's absence to face a bigger test to their mettle- the formidable enemy of Rey and the new Rebellion, as the group makes its anticipated, welcome return to the sequel franchise with The Rise of Skywalker.

EPISODE IX: THE LAST HURRAH!
POTENTIAL SPOILER ALERT!
This super composition has recently appeared online (possibly leaked via Russia, which we've heard had the earliest merchandise/poster work for Solo: A Star Wars Story) and seems to be the real deal - the first real exciting look - for the teaser or main poster for the upcoming EP IX. It has our heroes in their new costumes- linked to photos that were recently leaked online, alongside all new heroes, aliens and villains (including J.J. Abrams favourite Keri Russell, supposedly as a shady character wearing what the actress calls a 'very cool costume' (right of Oscar Isaac). Plus someone replacing the late Captain Phasma as Stormtrooper leader, Kylo Ren back wearing an all-new helmet and revised lightsaber, plus the welcome return of the Knights of Ren. In the skies, there are some formidable new First Order TIE ships ready for combat against the Y-wing fighters of the Resistance. Finally, how can we not mention Threepio, distinctively, and totally against protocol, hilariously wearing a bandolier and holding what looks like a bowcaster (another rumour that had been doing the online rounds now true, it seems).

EPISODE VIII: COMPLETING HIS TRAINING...?
![]() |
| EPISODE VIII art of Kylo Ren by Brian Rood, |
POSSIBLE SPOILERS!
He's arrogant, aggressive, and highly dangerous in a way that hasn't been seen since the worst examples of Anakin Skywalker during the Clone Wars, but Kylo Ren has proved far, far nastier and less forgiving in his youthful guise in many respects, especially in Patricide. Prior manipulated into the monster he has become, Ren's presence in the new sequel era has won much plaudits from fans and critics, deservedly so thanks to a strong and memorable performance from Adam Driver, giving us a character who looks set to build on his ability to wreak havoc and chaos once more as he continues his journey towards the Dark Side of the Force, and his deep and unsettling desire to be as powerful as his grandfather. (And watch out for rumoured trips to Vader's old haunts, like Mustafar, in this new adventure).

| A revised costume and new cape for Kylo Ren in EPISODE VIII. |
Previous abilities seen so eerie and effective in THE FORCE AWAKENS look set to reappear, too, as will a sequence involving him with his band of killers that are the Knights of Ren. The Resistance has never met such a greater challenge with his developing aura of evil, alongside the power of the First Order, threatening to swallow up the galaxy.

EPISODE VII: THE MISFIT KILLERS!
On a far off, unknown world, the fallen from grace Kylo Ren and his band of unique and deadly acolytes - surely the weirdest and most visually intriguing group since the debut of the Classic Trilogy Bounty Hunters - finish their slaughter of Luke Skywalker's new Jedi Order, in this important flashback seen in THE FORCE AWAKENS, one of the last shots completed for the film in principal photography at Pinewood, circa September 2014.

More of this group is promised to be seen in EPISODE VIII, including a rumoured battle against Luke and Rey on Ahch-To, filmed on location in Ireland.

EPISODE VII: ARISEN FROM THE DARK SIDE!
They emerged from the remnants of a destroyed Galactic Empire and the later loss of the new Jedi once led by the now vanished Luke Skywalker. The evil renegade Kylo Ren, former pupil to Skywalker, and the First Order have begun victimising the universe, preparing to finish the job of star supremacy started by Emperor Palpatine and Darth Vader, as seen in this great artwork now available to buy as a supercool T-shirt from the enthusiastic DESIGNBYHUMANS label.

EPISODE VII: A FAMILY DESTINY TO FULFILL!
"I will finish what you started..."
Bold and dangerous words from one masked Dark Side practitioner and warrior to the remains of another- Kylo Ren to his late Grandfather, Darth Vader, in a now classic moment from THE FORCE AWAKENS. Note the intriguing stills camera angle used here, not seen in the finished movie.
This scene was originally planned for earlier in the film, but was shifted to later on by the film's editors- the idea of Kylo Ren showing vulnerability to the light adding weight that he might not commit patricide. But we all know he ultimately did!
Just what exactly did Ben Solo see in the Force, and discover in his exploration of Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader's history/dominion of the Dark Side, that would set him on his path to ultimate evil? Here's hoping we'll get those answers, as well as more unique and disturbing insights into Kylo Ren and this intriguing sequence, with EPISODE VIII.

EPISODE VII: "THAT WEAPON - IS MINE!"
As the Starkiller Base begins to implode, the snowy forest region arounds it plays host to a smaller but no less brutal conflict of nature, as the injured but still monstrous Kylo Ren demands Luke Skywalker's lightsaber from its current guardian, Finn, during one of THE FORCE AWAKENS finest sequences, featuring a superb performance from Adam Driver.
The moment prior to the battle, in which Ren tells Rey and Finn that Han Solo cannot save them now was a moment filmed later and added in the editing process, to add weight to the importance of the smuggler's loss.

EPISODE VII: FOREST OF THE DAMNED
![]() |
| Image: David James/LUCASFILM/DISNEY |
The beauty of a tranquil fantasy forest is disrupted by the presence of the lethal Kylo Ren, his unique flame-like lightsaber activated, his mind in the Force attuned, as his quest begins to find and slay the youngest, newest members of the Resistance against the First Order, in a tense confrontation from THE FORCE AWAKENS.
Following the tradition of the Sith and Jedi, the Knights of Ren build their own lightsabers. Kylo Ren's clearly and deliberately echoes Darth Vader's, whilst also having a distinct medieval/"steampunk" look about it.

EPISODE VII: LEGACY OF EVIL...
Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker had thought he'd finally destroyed the legacy of the fearsome Sith Warrior Darth Vader, what with his resurrection into the good side of the Force, back to being his once noble and heroic father: Anakin Skywalker. Decades later, however, Vader's evil past and that once ambitious thirst for power, alongside what's left of his fire-ravaged armour, have now become an unwelcome and ominous figurehead for a new emergence of evil: the Knights of Ren, practicers of the Dark Side, in firm allegiance with the growing-in-power cell dedicated to completing the work of Palpatine and the Galactic Empire: the First Order.
