The legendary Battle of Scarif continues in deep space, of which our Rebel heroes in their small fleet are locked in do-or-die combat against the Empire's ever-expanding forces, in a fortitude of bravery and skill that will determine the fate of the galaxy. Another great effects shot from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

EPISODE VIII: STRAINED RELATIONS!

Leia's calming and decisive leadership is much missed, and the Resistance vessels are running out of time and fuel against the pursuers. Now is not the time for a clash of leadership, but Poe Dameron and Vice Admiral Holdo just can't help it, during some noteworthy scenes from The Last Jedi.

EPISODE VIII: INSIDE THE HANGAR

Having just escaped the First Order with the evacuation of D'Qar, the main hangar of the Resistance heavy crusier Raddus is alive and buzzing with activity as X-wing and A-wing fighters return home, during the opening to The Last Jedi. Sadly, it won't be long before the enemy retaliation is swift and numerous desperately needed fighter pilots and technicians are lost forever...

EPISODE VIII: FIGHTER INFERNO!

He may have gotten Leia Organa's permission to 'blow something up', but Poe Dameron's rush to the fighter bay of the Raddus sees him too late to save the rest of his squadron, and the remains of the fleet's entire fighter protection, from a fiery oblivion. An explosive early-on scene from The Last Jedi, as first rendered in concept from by visual effects talent Kevin Jenkins.

EPISODE VIII:THE MYTH BEARERS...

At Pinewood Studios, London, writer/director Rian Johnson, his long-time producing partner Ram Bergman and Keeper of the STAR WARS Franchise in Kathleen Kennedy go through a sequence being filmed for The Last Jedi set on the Resistance cruiser Raddus. Impressed with Johnson's creativity and amiable personality, it wasn't long before Kennedy would offer him the keys to the creation of an all-new trilogy, featuring all-new heroes and villains, coming by 2020/21, beyond the legend originally created by George Lucas.

Will the trio's future endeavours live up to the standard bearer that is the original legacy?

Time will tell...

As the small Resistance fleet takes a pounding, and its protectorate fighter squadrons are lost forever, a bruised and battered Poe Dameron, alongside Finn and Lt. Connix, can only watch in horror the results of the attack on the Raddus bridge, then get to witness a hopeful sight unlike anything they'd ever experienced nor imagined before, during an important moment from The Last Jedi.

EPISODE VIII: A LEADER TO THE END...

It was great to see his prior return during The Force Awakens, but with The Last Jedi we were soon very sorry to see fandom's favourite Mon Calamari leader, Admiral Ackbar, receive a sudden and unexpected demise via the First Order's TIE fighter attack on the Resistance space fleet. No one else will ever be able to say "It's a trap!" in the STAR WARS universe with such iconic delivery as he once did, back in 1983 for Return of the Jedi...
