It's the emotional climactic moment that made Return of the Jedi so truly special, as father and son duelled within the Emperor's Throne Room - the scene we'd been waiting three long years for - and ended with Luke's brutally defeating the wounded Darth Vader. Abandoning the Dark Side energies that had briefly fuelled his skills, Luke ultimately returns back to the light and discards his lightsaber to confront the dreaded Emperor who fiendishly manipulated Anakin Skywalker into being Darth Vader all those years ago.
