BLAST FROM THE PAST: COMICS JOURNAL DECEMBER 1977
I love covers like this one. It reminds of the days when STAR WARS was still young and innocent as a space adventure series, and when its characters were still being defined. The saga was unstoppable in its release and appeal to fans of all ages but had not yet become the runaway giant in merchandise that it is now.
The cover images behind an almost facially unrecognisable Han Solo (perhaps due to actor restrictions at the time), bar his actual costume and hair design, are well rendered and I bet its quite a good issue, delving as it does into the first film as both a movie and a comic book adaptation. One day I'll try and get hold of it.
