Watch out, Boba, there's a new Bounty Hunter in town! Image: Entertainment Film. |
For a few years after STAR WARS we didn't get much opportunity to see Mark Hamill flex his acting skills on the big screen, but when he did make his return in 1989 it was a memorable one far removed from his prior farmboy image- as a grey haired, bearded, determined bounty hunter, Will Tasker, in Gary Kurtz and Steven Lisberger's British filmed sci-fi adventure: SLIPSTREAM. The film, another attempt at a sci-fi/western hybrid, is by and large sadly forgettable, but Hamill is the shining spot throughout, and its ultimately worth catching just for him, showing us some of the darker and edgier side he could have brought to Luke Skywalker had he have had the chance, for RETURN OF THE JEDI.
