DELETED SCENE: DEATH AND DEPARTURE!
Having returned to the homestead and discovered the grisly fate of Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru, a grim Luke Skywalker goes back to Ben Kenobi and the droids at the wreck of the Jawa Sandcrawler, pledging his loyalty and commitment to his new/old friend in their mission to Alderaan, and in his training to be a Jedi. As the two droids finish burning the Jawa bodies, Luke and Ben head back to the Landspeeder, for the journey to Mos Eisley, in a deleted scene moment from the original STAR WARS.
Taken on location in Tunisia, Script Supervisor Ann Skinner's continuity Polaroids would include three not yet publicly seen colour shots from the behind the scenes: one of Luke in the distance by the Sandcrawler's tracks, the other in right forefront of his speeder, whilst a third would be a distance shot from the arriving Landspeeder position, showing a solitary Artoo by the Jawa body bonfire.
In Miss Skinner's original continuity script, yellow smoke was indicated for this location filming site.
With thanks to Ann Skinner and the BFI.
