AN 'EMPIRE' AT 40: IT TAKES A WORRIED MAN...

George Lucas looks less than thrilled behind the camera between filming.

On a film set hampered by delays, one most notably caused by the infamous fire on one of the much-needed soundstages that had been prior housing principal photography on The Shining, as well as daily cost overruns and trouble with a pulled-in loan decision from the new director of an American bank who failed to realize the first Star Wars sequel's potential box office success, things have never looked more gloomy or more costly for George Lucas, now making longer stay visits to the British Empire film set during August and September, 1979. And Lucas is determined to keep the film on schedule, having already had to give up some of his vitally-needed potential profits back to the greedy management of Twentieth Century Fox in order to keep things afloat.
