STAR WARS AT 35: MONTAGE MANIA!
Stunning its Japanese viewers into silent submission (the ultimate sign of respect for the movie by its audience), it took a while for the original STAR WARS experience to reach 'The Land of the Rising Sun', but this territory 1978 poster for the movie is still one of the classics in the way its montage combines the iconic Hildebrandt Brothers art (notably Darth Vader and spaceships) into selected scene and posed still imagery from the film (and proudly boasting its then recent OSCAR-winning success). It's not subtle, but it certainly carried all the vital ingredients that would go on to wow and inspire Japanese audiences then and now. Timelessly effective.
