At the cramped but nonetheless packed with invention facility of ILM at Van Nuys, California, effects stalwart Richard Edlund, no stranger to sci-fi with his earlier work on the classic STAR TREK series of the late sixties, gets a quick cigarette puff in between camera shots of Princess Leia's Rebel Blockade Runner model.
