Though a small underground movement of resistance fighters will soon be activated in opposition, the majority of Theed's citizens are swiftly rounded up and sent to detention camps by swarms of Battle Droids. The establishing scene here was filmed on the enormous backlot area of Leavesden Studios with a select group of several hundred extras (and white boiled suited artists filling in for Battle Droids) positioned and shot at varying points of the exterior set and fused together with gorgeous models and matte painting work from ILM in post production.
